Dr. Beyda, a pediatric critical care specialist working at Phoenix Children's Hospital recently went to Ethiopia on an assessment trip and found that there is a large population of children with malaria, TB, malnutrition, chronic respiratory tract infections, and parasitic disease that will require treatment during our trip in July, 2008. These children live an an environment with no water, no sanitation, and no toilets. They are also exposed to communicable diseases and live in small places with as many as ten people sharing one room. There will be a lot of work to do there in a very short period of time. Donna will assist the medical team during five days of clinic. She will also have time to visit and provide support to the Kidane Mehret Children's Home and the Beyond the Orphanage Foundation while there.
